Is a province or state in any other country an individual nation? If not, why would Canada be any different in this regard?
And if that doesn't tell you, then think about why would they call the country Canada if it's made of individual nations. |

No, the provinces and territories are all part of Canada, just like the states and US territories are part of the USA, the Mexican states are part of Mexico, the Swiss cantons are part of Switzerland, etc. |

Lemme guess...you're American.
The provinces are part of Canada...Canada is the country as a whole - all 10 provinces and 3 territories.
The Canadian flag represents the country as a whole. Each province also has its own flag, but the Canadian flag supercedes those. |

The provinces are NOT individual nations. Flags have nothing to do with what is important. NHL hockey teams have their own team logos and flags but they're all part of the NHL.
Flags are really a form of quick identification, not a statement of nationality. |

no! There are 10 provinces in canada and 3 territories and they all belong to the same nation, Canada. Also, unlike the USA, for the most part, they all have the same laws.
Canada is a federation consisting of ten provinces that, with three territories, make up the world's second largest country in total area. The major difference between a Canadian province and a territory is that a province receives its power and authority directly from the Crown, via the Constitution Act, 1867, whereas territories derive their mandates from the federal government.
The current provinces are Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. The three territories are Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon. |

The french speaking Quebecois people are a nation within Canada. Not sure how that is possible but Harper says they are and almost all the MPs in the house agreed with him. The province of Quebec is not a separate nation. |

No, they are all part of Canada under the Canadian Constitution and governed by the same laws. A province also has a provincial legislature, but they have somewhat less independence than states in the United States. The Canadian flag is more important than the provincial flags. |
