I've been to Canada, once, for 10 days, everyone was reallly nice, friendly and chilled, apart from the guy who sold me a lump of liqorice instead of hash!! So, to answer your question, no, they're just REALLY laid back.

They may not be as exciting as you, but they are friendlier.
I liken Canada as a country like America, without any of the bullshit.

Canadians fight in wars, (and fight well when need be). They got into WWII much earlier than the US and joined the RAF and helped turn the tide, but that is hardly a measure of character.

Life is what YOU make it. Your attitude will reflect the response you get. Try a smile and common manners you will notice that most people are as you expect and act. I find most people exciting and enjoy the many cultures. I guess that's what travel is all about.

Well, well......

I have travelled to lots of places and find people everywhere to be of many different personalities - for example there are interesting people everywhere, there are boring people everywhere, exciting people everywhere ........... not just Canada.

The trick is to find people you like and hang out with them!

Also, don't mistake placid and peaceful for Dull - it's not.
