Are Canadians happy Obama is USA president as of today?

More details Canadians should know about the new USA president:

1) Obama believes in responsibly putting an end to the Iraq War as soon as possible and waging responsibly the war against terrorist activities and Afghanistan.

2) Under Obama, the USA will undergo significant foreign policy changes, where by establishing mutual respect with other cultures worldwide. And in response to those who commit atrocities against innocent civilians, Obama stated "The best way to establish a culture differing from the West is to build it rather than through destruction, same applying to USA. And so the fundamental relations with the Arab world will change dramatically."

3) Obama acknowledged the seriousness of the financial crisis and has a plan to work with the ordinary hardworking people to overcome the problems rather than trusting rich people to run things unregulated. In dealing with economic hardships, Obama is working with some of the most intelligent people who were part of Bill Clinton's presidency.

Lastly, my favourite thing of all is the symbol Obama brings to the USA in the wake of its Civil War history, racial discrimination, everything Bush stood for, and to sum things up in a nutshell, "Those who attended the inauguration of Obama together for the first time in maybe all of USA history, did not subconsciously distinguish between who was white and who was African America. The feeling was so unified and shared on such an extraordinary level."

And it gets sweeter than that. Obama's family and kids have this idealistic sense being in the White House about all the good they can accomplish and it's like fresh starting America over from scratch.

It's really sad this took 8 years to surface, isn't it? Isn't the new USA a sigh of relief for Canadians if the dream holds true?

Edit: man, Canada may want to consider a February Federal Election

Obama is American. That means he's for the USA first and everybody else last.
PS what he says during and election and what he will or can actually do, usually have nothing in common. After all he's a politician!

It was quite exhilirating. Even though I woke up at 4:30 in the morning for no reason and then fell back asleep and had horrible dreams for two hours, it was still fun to watch. I don't know if you're Canadian, but for us, it is so refreshing to see so much respect for a head of government. In Canada, the Opposition parties have zero respect for their prime minister. They berate and insult him as though he was a criminal or something.
If it weren't for His Right Honourable Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Liberals might have eventually abolished our military; that was the way it was going.
Thank God for Harper.

Bush actually liked our current Prime Minister and was willing to make compromises in trade disputes. We really have no idea if Obama will be as accommodating.

I think it's a very good thing! It was a very historical day for not just black people, or Americans but the world and I'm glad the much needed change came to America! He' seems to like Canada so I am looking forward to see the relationship of the two countries.
