Are Canadians having the same trouble obtaining passports quickly like in the US?
I'm Canadian, did mine on-line and was at the office with my application for 20 minutes. That was two weeks ago tomorrow, and I picked up my passport today. So I'm sure 6 weeks is enough time.

The lineups when the whole border thing was announced were huge, but my younger sister got her passport last week and it was about a 30 minute wait for her. If you go to the passport place they'll get it to you within about 3 weeks.

2 weeks if you go in person
6 weeks plus if you send by mail
line ups at offices earlier in the year but have not heard lately
what the lineups are like now.

I don't know but the whole thing blows from my point of view. I live in Michigan and cross the border from time to time. If I have to get a friggin passport, I'll have to take the long way around.
