Absolutely! Mine is in a constant state of use!! It's a good idea to call the bank just to make sure, especially if you are coming from across the pond . I should know. I live in Montreal, where you can see me on any good day, using my debit cards in the shops on Ste. Catherine Street!!

I've heard that Canadians are about the world's biggest users of debit cards, per capita. You can use them just about everywhere.

Well, as far as I know, Canadian debit cards are accepted pretty much everywhere in Quebec but not the foreign ones - at least not in stores or restaurants.

But don't worry - you'll just have to withdraw some cash at the ATM's for that.

Those machines are everywhere, thank goodness!

Hope this helps!

I am not sure, but I was recently in Mexico (Monterrey) and they were accepted almost everywhere, so I would assume that they will be accepted in Quebec.

absolutely. but your pin may not be valid in foreign stores (will work in atms though) so you'll have to sign the receipt instead.
