Yes, there are gates open in each state that boarder Canada that are open year round, and on holidays. Some gates though within the state might close. You would have to find out which ones stay open depending on the state in which you are entering from or into.

The larger main crossings are staffed 24 hours per day. Small crossings in rural areas are not, so check before you leave.

JIM
I would say yes because there are overnight Greyhounds between Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC and Toronto Canada

jimmy crack corn
The main crossings are open 24/7/365, if you tell us which crossing you would be using we could tell you if it's a main crossing open all the time

SteveN
Some (like the Lacolle border crossing between New York and Quebec) are open 24hrs a day.

Others, like the smaller Rouses Point crossing, are only open during certain hours and you are expected to present yourself at any staffed border to qualify as a "port of entry". By not doing so, you are considered to be in the country illegally, and could be fined and escorted out of the country.

yes

No, not for you or anybody like you

No... there is this HUGE 2500 mile long chain link fence that is closed at 6PM and opened up again at 8AM... if the canadians can find the keys, that is.
