all bears are dangerous! especially a mother with a baby cub!

dk
All bears are dangerous, more so when thay have their baby with them.

Any bear in the wild should be considered dangerous, especially a mother with a cub. You were wise to keep moving.

John W
Bears are dangerous regardless of where they live. The fact that there was a mom and cub makes your encounter even more dangerous. You did the right thing by not approaching the bears and leaving the area. If you should venture out into bear country again it would help if you wore a set of bear bells as the noise will make them leave the area long before you see them or they see you.

you came very close to an encounter of the deadly kind. Bears with cubs dont ask too many questions before taking action to protect their cubs. I am glad you were not in between them or you might not be typing today.

Best defense against bears in the wild is to make lots of noise to let them know you are coming and they will usually clear out well before you get there

all bears are dangerous, they are after all wild

Youre lucky and smart to have just kept moving. If you didn't 95% chance Id be seeing you on the news right now and everone would be complaining about another bear attack.
