While our economy isn't fantastic due to the HUGE U.S. recession, it's not that bad. We are not expecting to see the huge mortgage crisis you guys are having for example. We said no to Iraq, and we are not at war with them, which the vast majority of us agree with.

Actually, a lot of Americans have made the mass exodus to Canada. I have spoken with an engineer on here who couldn't believe the war and the propaganda thrown at Americans.

Personally, while I love Canada and feel bad for Americans, I don't know if a bunch of Americans moving to Canada is something Canada as a society would like. Would that be good for us? I think a lot of Canadians would object and discourage this. Not because we don't want to be welcoming, but because it may affect *our* quality of life. You're going to have the uninsured/un-insurable in the U.S., who are chronically sick coming to use our universal healthcare system. You may get people coming in with a lot of debt and no taxable resources. Typically, the American view is very different from the Canadian one.

That said, I can certainly understand how you feel, and I also would want out. Hopefully things improve in the U.S., or you can figure a way out.

Good luck!

Edit: This is nothing personal against the questioner, but it's sort of funny how most Americans never seem to know anything about Canada...even though we are their neighbors and their biggest trading partner. It's all tied into the American mentality. They don't care about anyone else unless they want/need to, I guess. Again, nothing personal, I just find it kinda strange.

not really the economy is suffering some problems in the US here in alberta Canada i believe we are the only government in the world not in debt, ralph clien cleared that up for us, then gave all the citizens 400 bucks, and thats everyone even kids that were like 1 month old.

its probably good the 700 billion dollar thing in the US didnt pass it probably would have caused more problems.

i know the war is a big part in both countries expecially the US because to many people have died and now want it to end. i know there is about 200 American soldiers living in Canada cuz they don't want to go back to war.

J'aime la natation!
Not at all! Especially not in Alberta where the economy is booming. You could try www.canada.ca or try a google search. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at sara7383@yahoo.ca

if you think about it are things really aren't that bad..all the problems in the stock market have always eventually balanced out. Have you really seen a diffrerence in the economy? Besides gas prices nothing has really changed in my life.
