Of course we can!
I would have thought with the coming of computers and the Internet, people would get smarter. Seems I was wrong in some cases.
Go to a search engine - yahoo has one and so does google. Type in
women + vote + Canada
and hit search. You would be surprised at what you can learn. On the subject of women voting in Canada, here are a couple of sites to start you out.
Part way down the the first one is an interesting mention of Quebec women and the vote. A different experience in Quebec for the women there. |

Are you kidding me? Of course Canadian women (meaning over 18 and a legal resident) can vote.
P.S. Don't listen to Phil. He's kidding. He shouldn't joke that much though, the U.S. is in a major recession, tumbling down amidst a failed government based on lies and deceit. Luckily, some Americans are smart enough to see through this. I am scared for the brainwashed ones who can't... |

Technically yes, but they aren't allowed to drive cars or attend school, so for most women it's a practical impossibility. If a woman does manage to register and get a ride to a polling place, she may be denied a ballot for any number of trivial offenses, like wearing revealing clothes or looking a man in the eye. Truthfully, most of the election officials come from Canada's desperately poor rural areas, subsisting on less than 10,000 CDN (about $4 US) a day, and they will use any excuse to extort a bribe. But for Canada's women, even this modest bribe is impossible, as women - with the exception of registered prostitutes - are forbidden from carrying money.
My advice to you is to vote in America. New York City, that Beacon of Freedom, is only a few hours' drive from the infamous Mountie stronghold of Toronto, where RCMP death squads operate with impunity. In New York women are allowed to vote, own property, even wear shoes!
Good luck, lady. Someday we'll liberate the suffering women of Canadia. Until then, we'll continue setting an example of liberty and justice for the rest of this god-forsaken world to follow. |
