I'm not sure what he's done, but I really don't like him. He looks like a sneaky and untrustworthy person, and he hasn't done anything to help major issues in Canada (Global Warming). I don't trust his motives. He wants to turn Canada into a mini (or shall I say larger) version of America.

Although he was hillarious on Rick Mercer.

JJ
A happy as anyone can be with a PM. Of course it's only because he has a minority government that he is half decent. I still don't trust the Liberals (they elected another leader from Quebec, even though there had to be at least 4 candidates, who were not from Quebec, that would have made better leaders). The NDP are the NDP. So basically I think we should have a minority government led by Harper. So I am not "happy", but I am sort of content.

Danelady
It could be worse, I guess, in both cases.

So far so good. At least those corrupt Liberals are out, the NDP is, as usual no threat, and the Bloc is a joke.

In a way. There's lots int he budget that I think is fair. However, I dont like how he sucks up to Quebec. Christ sakes, they should make up their minds. STAY OR GO. Out here in Alberta, it doesn't really matter.

nope, not fair. the whole quebec thing is as fishy as the liberal ad scam.

No No No.
He's as much of a liar as his predecessors.
He promised a transparent government, but he won't let his MPs speak with the media.
He shot down Martin's minority government (when he sat in opposition) at every chance he got, trying to force us into an election. Now he's campaigning again (with the worst negative ads I've ever seen!) I wish he'd quit with the shenanigans and get down to the business of running the country.
He's only doing the bare minimum (or less) for the environment. He's more concerned about protecting industry and the selfish NA way of energy consumption rather than dealing with serious environmental issues. Issues that should be a huge concern to Canada since we have the largest ice caps in the world and vast natural resources. All of which are at risk. We should be custodians of our resources. But with Harper at the helm, we'll just destroy them.
I can't stand how he keeps referring to his government as "new." Give me a break! He's been in power for over a year. That's not new anymore.
Tell me.... What campaign promises HAS he kept???????
We need a visionary to lead this country. Not an autocratic right-wing-nut.
Thank god for Dion...There's hope for the future.

No. AND NO!

It's like they have been trying to buy votes for weeks. At whose expense? Well they did nothing to buy my vote, so at mine.

Yes, we are happy with Stephen Harper and the 2007
budget is fair.....just like all the other budgets same old
same old, no matter which party is in power

The only reason there was so much for Quebec in that budget is because he wanted to make sure he could buy them so there was no election.
He is actually far worse then any liberal. He is now being investigated by the OPP and RCMP. He has lied and frauded and is now getting caught. How is he getting caught you may ask Well he left 5 years worth of confidential data in opposition office. here is a little summary for you all:
The Liberal Opposition continued to take the Harper government to task today over a series of ethical and possibly criminal violations undertaken by senior Conservative MPs and strategists.

“The Prime Minister wraps himself in the so-called accountability act, and now his senior confidante, John Reynolds, a lobbyist in named the Privy Council, is the subject of a police investigation,” said Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion. “Will the Prime Minister do the prudent thing and ask Mr. Reynolds to resign now as the Conservative Party’s Campaign Chair and cease any contact with him?”

The Ontario Provincial Police have launched an investigation into a sworn affidavit claiming Mr. Reynolds and Environment Minister John Baird were involved in a bid to buy off Ottawa mayoralty candidate Terry Kilrea.

Mr. Kilrea has sworn that he was told Mr. Reynolds had arranged for him to be “in the queue” for an appointment to the National Parole Board should he drop out of the Ottawa mayoral race last year.

Under the Criminal Code it is illegal to offer a political candidate a job to induce them from participating in an election.

This is not the first possible Criminal Code violation Canadians have seen from the Harper government.

Last week, a series of documents were discovered in boxes left behind in Opposition offices by the Conservatives that seem to indicate Pubic Safety Minister Stockwell Day and former Canadian Alliance officials paid off a fellow Alliance MP to make way for Mr. Day’s election in 2000.

The Liberal Opposition is currently examining other abandoned documents to see if they contain information in the public interest.

“This government has created a culture where puffery and bluster pass for debate, but which conceal ugly realities,” said Deputy Leader Michael Ignatieff. “We have a prime minister's advisor and Conservative Campaign Chair under police investigation. We have a Minister of Defence who's made a habit of misleading the house. We've got a Minister of Public Safety who refuses to step aside while the RCMP -the police force he manages, investigation his conduct.

“When will this prime minister face reality, do the right thing and bring this ugly behaviour to an end?”

In the last month alone, Canadians have seen a Public Safety Minister accused of office-buying, a Defence Minister incapable of giving a straight answer, and senior members taking advantage of lobbying loopholes.

And this is from a government whose centerpiece legislation was the Accountability Act.

When it comes to accountability, the Conservatives are all talk, no action.

So I guess it comes down to how far will he go to screw over Canada, apperently he thinks the law is only good for others and not for himself. He wants everyone to take accountability except for him. He lied and cheated and yet still wil not say a take accountability for it. I guess the accountabilty act was just that AN ACT!
