I lived right over the border in Ferndale, WA and we often traveled to Vancouver. I think you will enjoy it no matter what you like because there is so much to do and see whether you like the city or nature. There is so much to do that you should get on the computer and plan so that you don't spend all day driving back and forth (like my sister did). Also, if you get a headache, then you can buy Tylenol with Codeine without a prescription. That was worth the trip for me-- haha!

Vancouver is a truly beautiful city in an absolutely stunning natural setting. There's loads to do there. It's a real food city and the restaurants are great. If you're into designer shopping, hit Robson Street... it's ALL there. Stanley Park is huge and houses the Vancouver Aquarium, hiking trails, a seawalk, and is a great place to visit. Check out Gastown, an old part of the city that grew up out of the need for entertainment and night life for the men in the logging camps that were the first settlements in what became the city. Granville Island has a huge farmers market and lots of neat little shops and artist studios.

The only thing that sucks about the city is the traffic.

I have been to canada..it is very beautiful. There is a different attitude there, I have often wondered if maybe I should apply for residency up there,
Have fun...explore the culture, be open to new things, ask questions, and most of all HAVE FUN.

There's lots of things to do in Vancouver. Go to Stanley Park, take the horse drawn wagon tour, ask the people in the information both dumb questions like "where are the squirrels?" just to bug them (I used to work there), visit the aquarium and lost lagoon in the park, check out everything that's in a dome- science world, the planetarium, and the Blodel Conservatory- go shopping in China Town and visit the Cafes on Commercial Drive, go to the Imax theater, visit the many lovely beaches, and definitely go to the museum of anthropology. Those are some of the highlights. There are many interesting neighborhoods to explore and good ethnic restaurants, especially in the more central areas.

Vancouver is great. It's a very pretty city by the water, and it has all sorts of things to do. Lots of outdoorsy stuff, great shopping, great restaurants. I bet you'll like it more than you realize.
