As a former tourist to Toronto, Canada, do you feel the city making the right move in it's development?

Toronto's vision for itself is to become a self-styled NYC type of city with the introduction of many highrise buildings and commercial venues. Do you agree with the vision? Are you for more highrise buildings, greener spaces, or both in this waterfront city? What would make u want to return to this city?

I am for both in this waterfront city. Toronto is a beautiful city and people should be able to enjoy it. I would return to this city because of the people here. They are extremely nice and generous.

Shokofeh
Canada is accepting a very huge number of immigrants and refugees every year and the majority of those who enter Canada choose Toronto for living.
So there really is no choice but to build more highrises and commercial and industrial areas.
And to answer what makes me want to return to this city, just like most people, job opportunities.

One of the nicest things being done in Toronto right now is the harbourfront revitilization. They're redoing the whole harbourfront. They've expanded and put in new boardwalks. They're creating more beach and park areas. These areas use to be industrial and commercial areas and now they've become public areas for recreation.

I love the city and plan to live here for the rest of my life.
I like that there are many green spaces in the city limits and quiet streets in the core (I live on one) and the mixture of cultures, languages and colours.
I do not think of Toronto as a NYC wannabe. We are comng into our own in our own way.
The waterfront really does need some work but overall the city is great.

Count to Zero
As a Torontonian, I believe the progress of the city is astounding. We may wanna be a copycat of New York City, but only to take the good aspects of that city, not the sleaze!

del1- you are a racist. What do you have against Pakistani people? (No I am not Pakistani). You said it is weird that there is Pakistani people everywhere in Toronto. Why is that weird? You have something against them? You obviously don't know what you are talking about. There are more Asian (Chinese- not south Asian) people in Toronto than Pakistani people. You said they should call Toronto "Little Pakistan"- Toronto is multicultural. There is areas like Little Italy, Greek Town, Little Portugal, Little India- Pakistani people are only one of many different groups of people in Toronto and they aren't the majority. You calling it completely weird shows you are a racist- so you are not welcome in Toronto- STAY OUT!

my dear visitor, Toronto is a growing city like all the city's in northern America. But we try to keep it still nice and beautiful. Thanks for you vision

They need to re brand the city as "Little Pakistan".

Visited the city a couple months ago. Pakis EVERYWERE. Completly weird. I agree with the previous post that this city is useless.

Use it for nuclear testing for all I care.
