I would enquire about travel arrangements in a general way to see how they respond. It might give you good insight into how this company handles details and takes care of it's employees. A more likely scenario is to negotiate travel and moving expense in your compensation package once the job is yours. And if all of that fails, then you can at least deduct travel expenses on your taxes.

if your applying for a job its up to you to get to an interview

if you get the job do you expect them to pay your travel expences every day. it is your responsibility to get to the interview and to work 6 hr drive or not. no work a little closer to home

If they contacted you to arrange for the job, you can ask them if they offer any reimbursement for the travel costs to get there.

On the other hand, if you contacted them and are trying to get a job that others are applying for, they may not look favourably on you for asking them to pay you to come and see them about a job. It is a bit too bold.

When applying for a job it is the responsibility of the interviewee to pay for expenses. The company is not going to pay your expenses unless of course their an exception to the rule and have money for that type of thing.

If the drive is too much, as them if you can do a phone interview...although phone interviews tend to not go as well as inperson interviews.

If you are not employed by them as yet you can not ask for travel reimbursment . You are at this time seeking out the job yourself. They are not leglally obliged to give this to you as your ot an employee as yet and you are the job seeker.Greatway of killing your chances of getting the job

Yes...I'd actually ask them to either make your travel arrangements for you or pay you UP FRONT for your travel time/expenses.
