Attention Tourists! What's the rudest experience you have had visiting Vancouver, BC?

Since Vancouver is going to be hosting the Olympics, locals and tourists should be educated. Thanks in advance!

I have never had a rude experience there. Actually I thought most people were great. I have been there 4 or 5 times and I have always loved it.

The rudest experience(s) I had in Van - just last month - were from people pushing ahead of my husband's wheelchair to crowd into elevators specifically designed to accommodate a wheelchair to go ONE flight (and leaving us behind because there was no room left). grrrr

You see, in Vancouver, everyone is into fitness (except elevator users), and wheelchairs seem to be invisible. I was just thankful for all the bicycle ramps that made places accessible - except we were constantly in danger of being run over by speeding cyclists who were angry that we were in their way...

Thanks for asking!

I got stuck at the top of Grouse Mountain and had to find my own way down as it got dark.

And like there were all these naked people on Wreck Beach
who were really insulted when I pulled my camera out.

Take off eh.

When I first moved here (I have lived here in Vancouver for about a year), my family and I went for a scenic tour. . .meaning we got almost lost. We went through a part of the city that had so many homeless people in it, and I saw a woman laying down on the sidewalk with her head on another person's lap, and the person sitting up was shoving a heroine needle in this woman's neck. I was completely freaked out as I have seen this on TV, but in broad daylight. . .Other than that, I really love Vancouver, except for all the cursed RAIN. I keep to my own neighbourhoods, and I avoid that nasty area altogether. On a good note, Willy Pickton is off the streets and on trial.
