it depends where in Canada....which province? which city? For example in Toronto, the average monthly living cost is (+/-) $1,000 (bachelor apartment in downtown area cost you apprx $500 to $800 a month (+/-) plus other expenses such as grocery shopping, transportation etc

it depends on which region you're talking about.
Rents can vary, say starting at as low as 350.00can for a room in someones house, to 4000.00can for a house in an upscale area. Also sometimes one can find free accommodation in exchange for work, ie nanny, or maintenance. Car costs also vary considerably, in Ontario say, you might spend around 2-3 thousand a year for insurance, in B.C. its more like 6-7 hundred.
Maybe repost your question indicating which part of Canada you are thinking of....

it depends where in canada.

i'm in calgary and my minimum monthly expenses were about $1500 when i was renting. that included my rent ($800), car payment ($200), insurance (about $150), bills (about $250), and miscallaneous like food and going out.

i'm not sure where these other people live that they're paying $800 a month but it sounds dreamy.

It depends on where you plan to live. You can pay $1200 per month for a small one bedroom apartment in Ottawa or $400 per month for the same sized apartment somewhere rural.

Really depends where you live, hugely. Canada is huge and each province has different laws about rent control. You can find a huge loft in Montreal for about $300-$500 a month, and the same in Toronto for maybe $1000-$3000. So look locally, I can't really say more.

I'd say about $800 dollars a month.

$500 a one bedroom apt with utilities included

$150 for car payments (depending on the car)

$150 for other variable expenses, food etc

If you have a full time mininum wage job you should have plenty of room for savings

minimum wage for adults is $8.25

I live in Toronto, Ontario

Depends if you're a big spender. :)
But the average is around $500~$1,000 a month.
That includes rent, car, food, stuff...
