tuppenybitz
i couldn't care less what americans know or don't know, that's up to them

Voddy its americans like you that make the rest of the world dislike americans, i know all are not like you but you are arrogant and ignorant and give your country a bad name
canadians are very nice tolerant people and will never be inferior to the likes of you
and no im not canadian

Smiley Virus
I'm happy to see all the answers from Canadians who don't care. I myself am slightly embarrassed when some Canadians seem to care what Americans think about Canada. Why should we care about the opinions of Americans in particular? Is the U.S. the center of the Universe? No, it is not.

Doesn't make a difference to my life what the boys down South know about us.

The only time it's annoying (the lack of knowledge of Canada that Americans have) is when I travel to the States and I get a slough of insanely stupid, misinformed, and biased comments or questions. But I've also found that trying to explain it is just as frustrating.

Americans view Canada as just Canada. Like it's homogenous. Canadians know better and get frustrated.... you have no idea how many Americans come here to Alberta and are so suprised that it doesn't fit the "Canadian" stereotype at all... great plains, cowboys, etc. Like serously people... do you think that geography and weather stop at the 49th parallel?

But overall I get along with most of the boys down South, and sometimes it's fun to just go along with the stereotypes, or get them believing in ridiculous things.

Glad, this way they leave us alone.

I almost wish I had been able to see Voddy's answer.

I love Canada, I have been going there for vacations for over 20 years - great people, great activities ...

For the first respondent, which seems to be gone now, going to the US for medical treatment - I did it, paid for by the province. They said it was so specialist, it was cheaper to hire from the US - rather like renting carpet cleaning equipment from the store.
PS I gave the hatred writer a thumbs up as I reckon it has to be a joke.

Not all Americans are like that.
The internet has changed things.
I think it is the education system that fails them not that they are bad people. They are normal people just like us.

i am embarrassed by the reply Voddy C left.

and no, not all americans hate canada. i love it.

petey
pity...

just look at Voddy's answer above...there's 2 groups that hate Canada, americans and the taliban, everybody else loves Canada and Canadians..so what does that tell u ??

Edit: wow..looks like Voddy needs some anger management training...LOL.

Edit: Jeremy, actually Canada has 4 seasons, it's not winter all year long except in the arctic or alaska and to be honest I love having all 4 seasons, it would seem too weird to have Christmas in summer weather...and there are alot of US states that are futher north than most Canadians...but keep coming back, we'll give u a decent education yet...

Sad that your education system is so bad. Dissapointed that our neighbours want to be woefully ignorant of other countries, and pity for your lack of sophistication and knowledge.

But we understand you can't help it, you are American. It's a reputation you have world wide unfortunately and you seem SO proud of it. So add "puzzled" to my list of how I feel.

Does it affect me? Do I spend time thinking about it? No, its like flies, when one is buzzing around me irritating me then I feel annoyed. Does it affect my life in anyway? Absolutely not, I dont consider anything from America that important and am proud to be Canadian and educated and considered a friend where ever I go in the world.

because the US is getting alot of its foreign oil from Canada, Canadians feel that they can charge the same as the rest. So nyah nyah on the yanks. (We are smarter than a 10th grader).
So, yeah tighten up the borders so the oil and the water or electrical power does not get through either. And what the hey- you want to pay more for meat at the grocery stores - but that is you.
Closing the borders will make the price of "Slushies" go up as well(never considered where do they get the ice from-did you?)

Indifferent. It will not affect my life in the slightest, other than being able to laugh at those proud to be ignorant. Voddy would be a prime example of someone proud to be ignorant and of american media propaganda at its finest......

Your right! I don't know anything about Canada, except that's it's winter all year long, it's the largest nation in North America, and they make maple syrup.
