Best place to totally wind down max. 3 hours North or West of Toronto?

Professional couple is looking for recommendation where best to spend 7-9 Sept. Emphasis on excellent food, quiet and comfortable sleep, easy walks in beautiful surrounding, maybe also a Spa.
Do you know THE place?

Spent the summer any years ago outside the small town of Madawaska. Has to have been built up by now. Great fishing, swimming, canoeing etc,. About 3 hour drive from Toronto.

SnowGlobe
Collingwood on Georgian Bay. The Village at Blue Mountain to be exact. It's beautiful and has a fully serviced spa.

Check it out. 90mins north of Toronto.

That's our anniversary week-end!

Two possibilities are: Langdon Hall http://www.langdonhall.ca/
or find suitable accommodation, according to your budget, in Niagara-on-the-Lake: http://www.niagaraonthelake.com/ which would be my personal preference.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

Check out The Briars on Lake Simcoe,
Jackson's Point area. Good Food!

Kanadierin
Georgian Bay .. many bed & breakfasts around the Midland / Penetanguishene area. Lots to see, forests, beaches, islands, lakes .. good local eateries, fabulous fresh air, beaches you can actually swim at .. all available just 150 km north of Toronto.

All are good, id recommend somewhere in Muskoka myself like Taboo, but the traffic might be busy that weekend. Realise that traffic would be busy heading to Niagara too.

Langdon Hall is in Guelph which is West, and might be the easiest to get to in terms of traffic volume.

I also recommend you to book now if its not already gone b/c that weekend will be booked fast!

niagara falls, or windsor casino. the waterfront view in windsor isn't too bad, you can see the lights on the american side.

I second the Kingston, vote.

For me Kingston is the desired vacation destination in Canada. It has a downtown area if you want the night life and find a quiet B&B if you prefer.

From Kingston if you feel you need to leave the area for a day trip and you have documentation, you can take the Ferry to Watertown, New York.

Have a great time.

The Arowhon Pines hotel in Algonquin Park..

You will love it

La Diva
Prince Edward Island...quaint and very family oriented with a lot of history, yet peaceful.

Try going east on the 401 to Kingston, Ontario. Thats where I go. Right on the Lake, stay at the Holiday Inn on the waterfront (613)549-8400 all rooms have balconies and watch the ships come and go. Near the Thousand Islands, Old Fort Henry. Your right downtown and walking distances to many great restaurants. We enjoy the Keg. Its historical and beautiful.

St N
Algonquin Park, either Killarney, Arrowhon Pines or Bartlett Lodge. On the edge of the park you have Deerhurst and Grandview in the Huntsville area and in Whitney there is the Couples Bear Trail. Book know because in that area weekends fill up years in advance.
