British Columbia. First, because it's the closest part of Canada to Oz and second because if you've come too late for snow in the Vancouver area, there will still be snow on Vancouver area mountains such as Grouse and Seymour, or nearby in Whistler, or in the interior of BC. Grouse Mountain is great because you can go and see the snow, play in it, try skating or skiing or snowboarding if you're feeling brave, have a nice dinner and a few drinks, enjoy the view if it's clear and then take the bus back to the city where you don't have to stumble around in the snow while doing your daily stuff. On a spring afternoon at Grouse it can be pretty warm outside but still have snow on the ground. Take your sunglasses. |

Ottawa! If you come in February you can come to Winterlude, Ottawa's huge winter festival with snow sculptures, snow sliding and best of all, aa beavertail! (a festival pastery that we are known for) A lot of people come to skate on the RIdeau Canal (a man made canal that goes through the downtown)
Come on down, we are one of the nicest cities! |

Go visit Vancouver and Whistler in British Columbia. Vancouver is the closest Canadian city to Australia and you'll probably end up saving a lot of money. Its an hour drive to Whistler... which has the largest ski resorts in North America. Its also a very scenic route because its an alpine city surrounded by mountains. There are shuttle buses called Greyhounds and Mountaineer trains that go there almost every day of the week. Whistler village has wide streets with wooden buildings that look very European and you can see the snowy mountains in the background. There are souvenir shops, cafes, stores, and hotels in the village. Nearby Vancouver is a huge city, but it also has the Grouse Mountain chairlift, only 20 minutes from downtown. It takes you to the snow-capped top of the mountain where there are views of the downtown, pacific ocean, mountains, and bridges. You can even see Mount Baker in the United States on a clear day. Hope that helps |

British Columbia, come during the winter if you want to see snow, it can get really miserable in the fall. If you want cold aussi heat come during the summer it usually goes up to about 25-30 degrees. kamloops is the best for heat. Vancouver and vancouver island is a great place to visit aswell |
