Come to Alberta...we are booming and have a lot of jobs and not enough people. Toronto is a bit like the States so it depends on what you are looking for. Albertans are very nice...slower paced people. As for crime, it might be more in Toronto cuz it's a bigger city than Calgary.

I have to say JoChan said it quite well! I live in Calgary and I love it! You'd have no problem with finding a job here! I live in the Downtown and I am not worried about crime, as It has had no effect on me personally! I still feel safe walking around!

It would be hard to decide which city, Calgary or Toronto is the better place to live because they both have their pros and cons and varies between each person. Here are some useful information that may help you decide for yourself:

Housing:
"Toronto has the second highest average price at $365, 537, and Calgary is close behind at $358,214."
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20060614/house_prices_060614/20060615?hub=CanadaAM

Job Market:
"Calgary and Abbostford have been leading job gains with growth rates well above country's average rate of 2%"

http://www.rbc.com/economics/market/pdf/citytrend.pdf
Calgary has one of the lowest unemployment rate (June 2006)
(look at the chart on the same website, shows unemployment rates of Calgary, Toronto etc)

Oil Gas Price:

Attractions:

http://www.toronto.ca/

I however perfer Calgary over Toronto because the pollution here is not as worse, population and size of the city is not as big compared to Toronto, but is growing. =)

CALGARY!!!!!!!!!! It's the best place ever! It's legal to work after twelve and I'm only thirteen!!!! Also the wages are REALLY good!! Living in Calgary is like being on a vacation all year round!! ;-p
