Can I bring watercolour paint from China to Canada?

I came back to China to learn some watercolour painting and bought some tubes and cans (8 tubes,7cans) of gouache paint and would like to take them back to Canada so I can continue to practice there. I would like to know if I can put them in my checked luggage 'cause they only allow 100mL of liquid in carry-on and my paints are like 500mL-600mL.

I think I can put them in my checked luggage because when I came to China from Canada, I put 2 500mL of hairspray and about 175mL of tubed paints in my checked luggage and it was a very successful journey. So do you think I can put the 500mL of watercolour paints in my checked luggage and they will allow it to pass through the security?

You can put as much paint as you like in your checked luggage - I did on my last trip.

Happy painting!

Absolutely, bring as much as you can, bring canvas, brushes, whatever you need. It is a fraction of the cost in China, so fill up your suitcases with art supplies, buy an easel over there, and portfolios - EVERYTHING you need. You will save yourself HUNDREDS of dollars. A good brush in Canada can cost you $30 or more --

Do NOT put aerosols in your luggage !!!!!!!!!!!!

yes you can, make sure you put them in a sealed plastic bag just in case they break and get all over your clothes

sure why not?

i think it would be ok, just put them in plastic in case they break, you are allowed two large bottles of alchohol in your suitcase, and you can even bring more but you'd just have to pay customs tax.

I don't know... can you?
