Can I mail a passport to someone?

Canadian passports are issued to Canadian citizens only.

To receive one, the applicant must appear in person at one of the processing centers either to drop off the required documents or to pick it up; the prupose is to do a visual check that the one submitting the documentation and/or receiving the finished passport is who they say they are.

If your freind is a Canadian, he must go to the Canadian consulate (in London) to submit his paperwork. The passport will be either processed at the consulate/embassy, or the new/replacement one will be mailed to him at the address he chooses (being the consulate or his home address in Leeds). Please don't send a passport through regular mail. Either send it via courier like UPS or Registered Mail and get a receipt. People look for legal documents such as a passport and they get stolen all the time. You need to take precautions. I'm sure sending it via Registered Mail wouldn't cost more than $2.00 or $3.00

***P.S. are you sure its a passport he needs. If he is a Canadian in England didn't he already have one to go over there? If he isn't a Canadian, he can't get a Canadian passport. If he is English he needs to get an English passport from a passport office in England.

You cannot apply and get a passport for another person...he has to do it in person. Is he Canadian and just visiting in England? He can go to the nearest Canadian Embassy or consulate and apply and receive a passport.

He has to get his own passport and have someone verify that he is who he is. A Commissioner of Oaths . Otherwise people could be running all over getting passports in other peoples names (duh).

FYI Passports have your photo on them and have to be taken by a passport photographer and stamped

Clearly you dont have a passport or you would know the answer to these questions.

If he tries to use someone else's passport you could all land in jail. And should. Canada Immigration isnt stupid. Clearly you have never "cleared" Immigration arriving back in the country. Its tougher for non-Canadians

is he canadian?if he isnt he cant get a canadian passport
if he is canadian he will have to fill out and sign the forms it is illegal for you to do it

he will have to go to the nearest canadian embassy and apply for one
if he isnt canadian then he needs a passport from his country

Your friend can apply for a passport via mail. Just grab a form from a Canada Post Office

I agree with Charlie they he should visit the Canadian Counsulate in England and try there first !
