Can a Canadian citizen take a train to the USA without a passport?
Additional Details By the way, this is for the beginning of October, so there's no way I can get a passport for then. That's why I am asking. I am also under 18 if that matters.
There are plenty of trains between Canada and the US. Just make sure you bring proof of citizenship: birth Certificate and photo i.d. But, you will need a passport after January 1, 2008.

I know I took a train a few years ago and did not need a passport. However, laws are quickly changing and I believe that passports will quickly become required. I've provided some different links, and the Amtrack site recommends a passport. Either way, it's probably best to get one. I just went last week to apply for one.

The Canadian law has not changed yet you do not need a passport to cross the U.S Canadian border until the year 2009.
