Can a minor in the us bring alcohol across the border into canada?
Alright, I am 19 and am a resident of Minnesota. I am going to Canada and know that you can only bring a case of beer across the border. I am wondering, if I can get beer from somebody in the states and bring it to the border. Will I get in trouble for underage possession at the border? Or do I just have to pay more and buy it across the border?
"Hi" ......... At 19 years old "YOU ARE ALLOWED" ....to bring beer into Canada since you are going through Canadian Customs only and are of legal drinking age in Canada for all Provinces and Territories actually !
Where your problem may lie is while the beer is in your car and you haven't crossed into Canada yet but that's not what you asked !
You may even want to see if you are eligible to purchase it at the duty free shop prior to entering Canada....dunno but you can check that out and therefore skirt any issues with the police authorities in the U.S.!
This is my source ....scroll down a tad.....

Q. How much liquor can I bring into Canada?
A. You are allowed to bring in 24-12 oz. cans or bottles of beer or 40 oz liquor or 1.5 litres of wine free of duties and taxes. You must be 19 years of age to import alcohol into Ontario. Any amount in excess of 45 liters will not be allowed entry.
Glad to help and I wish to add that Canadian beer is excellent and of course a bit stronger than what you have in the U.S.A so also think about that but I reiterate that it is not a problem for you to cross the border with alcohol since you are of the legal drinking age here !

since you are not legally permitted to purchase or possess alcohol in the us i would think that you would not be allowed to transport alcohol across the national border.

Micheal C's answer is completely correct. But if you are coming into Canada, land of GREAT beer, and you are legal here, why would want to bring that water they serve in the US with you??

Don't do it, you will be in big trouble if you are caught
.
since when do they have beer in the states ?

I'm 18, legal to drink in Alberta. I went there to stay at a friends place for a few weeks, partied hard and packed some liquor in my bag, but it got taken away when travelling back to Ontario because there, I would be underage. You'd get in a lot more trouble bringing it over the boarder from a different country. Why take the chance? You could stop at a Beer Store or LCBO first thing when you get into Canada.
Q&A
You know you can legally buy and drink alcohol in Canada at the age of 18-19 (depending on where you are) so you don't need to sneek it across the border besides we have better beer over here...our legal drinking age is much lower not 21 so you'd be good
