If you go to a passport office you could get it in 2 weeks but will have to wait in line a good part of the day to do it. Another option is go to a service canada office where there is a much shorter line up but it takes up to 10 weeks. Be sure to have all necessary documents in order no matter what you do. |

I received mine about 3 weeks after I sent it in. I did not go and stand in line - I sent it by registered mail. |

I applied through our local passport office (Windsor, Ontario). Maybe I got lucky the day I went down there, but I barely waited and spoke with the processor fairly quickly.
(I had earlier picked up the application and completed it at home - any post office should have the form).
I had my passport back through the mail in less than 2 weeks.
I've read and heard that submitting it directly to the passport office speeds it up a bit but I think any method is fairly quick right now. When they first announced passport requirements, there was a huge rush to apply; the same will happen, I'm sure, as they get closer to the June, 2009, deadline, but at present it seems to be fairly speedy. |

Depends where you are. Mine took a total of three weeks through Riyadh KSA. |

Depends on where you're applying from. If there's an embassy close by, go directly there and ask for expediated service if you need it in a hurry. They can do it within 48 hours for emergencies, but otherwise, 2-4 weeks I think is the norm. |
