Check with the State Department of the U.S. Government. You will have to go there to get your passport. You may apply for a passport at USPS, but your final approval rest with Dept. of State. There are different degrees of felonies and Canada, along with many other British Commonwealth countries discourage immigration by known criminals. Each case is decided individually, and you will have to take your case to the Dept. of State and Canada Immigration and Customs.

I have a felony conviction and have been off probation for over 13 years and I cannot get into Canada even as a tourist.

Even to trave to Canada, you need to prove that you have been rehabilitated. Rehabilitation has certain criteria, depending on offense, sentence, length of time since offense, etc.

When applying for immigration to Canada there are many things you have to submit.Such as a full medical, finger prints and a criminal report. Each case is judged individually and it depends how long ago your offense was and how serious

Canada is pretty strict about who it lets in. If you have a felony I doubt they will let you into the country even for a visit.

If you are a convicted felon, we don't want you. Canada has enough of you that we'd like to boot out of here.
