heck yes, Toronto is so diverse we have gay clubs, we even have a "gay village"
totally an awesome city to live in if you're in the LGBTQ community.
plus the Pride festival is AMAZING.
and we are a completely equal rights country meaning gay marriage is legal :) |

Yeah, Toronto is very diverse and use to that stuff like San Francisco. I've seen gay couples all the time being open all the time there. Also they have a gay pride parade like one of the biggest in the world I don't know the exact dates though. Toronto is a very open minded city. You'll be fine. But there's still the chance like anywhere you go. But Toronto is very open minded. |

Very much so.
Toronto is very accepting and very diverse. There are many, many networks and events for the gay community.
The Toronto Gay Pride Parade is a big yearly event, and as someone mentioned Queen and Church street downtown have a lot of bars and social places that are gay-friendly and organized. |

Gay people can be open in Toronto or anywhere else in Canada. The degree of tolerance and acceptance depends on the individuals with whom you are dealing. In general, you shouldn't have too much trouble as long as you don't flaunt yourselves. But that goes for hetros as well - |

Open does not even describe it. You do understand gay marriage is legal in Canada? |

Toronto is very gay friendly. If you walk down church street, you will see many gay flags and the community here is great. I know cause some of my friends are gay and they're doing fine here in T.O.
So come to Toronto, its a great place for straights and gays. |

Toronto is very gay friendly, as many other people have said. It's very relative though. If you're coming from the Middle East than it is VERY gay friendly. If you're comparing it to somewhere in Europe than it might not be a drastic difference.
But something I've noticed is that it is A LOT gayer the closer you get to downtown. The outer suburbs are a little more conservative and you don't generally see two boys holding hands. |

Just to add a few more points.
Gay politicians, such as city council members, gay Provincial cabinet ministers, gay cops, gay wedding shows, gay transit drivers, gay grannies, and of course, gay United Church of Canada ministers.
Gay TV show hosts, gay hockey players, gay Doctors, and Dentists. Shall I go on ???
Yes Toronto is gay friendly, for sure.

Absolutely. Toronto has a big gay population and a very, very large Gay Pride parade every year (whih has in past included the mayor on a big float). Church and Wellesley area is a popular "gay" neighbourhood with many bars, stores, restauratns, theatres, clinics and advocacy groups that cater to gay lifestyles and issues. I'm straight but lived in the neighbourhood and found it to be very safe and very accepting of all kinds of cultures and people. |

Toronto is very friendly and welcomes gay people! I have to tell you though like any city you will have the few parts of Toronto that are not as friendly or use to seeing gay couples and you could get the few jerks but that is only in a few small close minded areas. Downtown Toronto is the most friendly, open minded to gay people. There is an entire community just for gay, lesbian, bi , drag and Transgender ( Hope thats the right term =0 ) There are tons of clubs, cafe's, stores and other stuff I'm forgeting lol. I know gay people should not have to just stick to their own area but if you ever need to feel support thats a great place to get it! =) |

Oh yes! Toronto is very diverse and very open.. Of course some areas are more "designated" or more "safe" than others but overall gay people live very comfortably in Toronto.. Just like any place, I assume older people might be less tolerant but to tell you the truth I dont think I have ever witnessed any form of prejudice (either verbal or physical)towards gays in Toronto and I have been living here for quite some time.. We also have the second biggest Pride parade in the world so that must mean something! |

Only on queen street and queer power areas.
Toronto has a huge gay parade, you can be gay downtown andflamboyant, but once you leave downtown tone it down because you might offend some of the large immigrant communities who are not use to that. |

Toronto is very friendly towards gays. We have the largest gay pride parade in North America. It's not uncommon to see gays out in the open holding hands etc.
I'm sure it ill be a great choice to move to Toronto. It's very diverse and people are very accepting and helpful - especially downtown. IF you are looking to move to Toronto, look in the downtown area because may be able to find gay communities, etc. |
