No, Not anymore. They are doing background checks. My friend has a city ticket for a dog leash violation and they wouldn't let him in with us when we were traveling. |

if she's not charged with a felony then why worry |

If her pending felony is on the books, then she may be stopped at the border and turned away. If she crosses without telling the Border guards and enters Canada, she could be arrested and deported, and never be allowed to return. I would suggest that your friend talk to some one from the Courts before attempting this. |

Definitely no .. its usually says in your papers your conditions & if your caught at customs---well you'll might just make it sentencing worse
and for the person who said you can get into canada and have charges against you...Nope they look into it....why do you think they only accept government issued ID.... Cause as soon as they type in info it goes through.... |

The short answer is YES. The longer answer is much more complicated. It is unlikely the Canadian border control agent is looking for you or will even cross reference any American database to determine whether you can enter the country. So it is easy to enter Canada.
Now, if during your visit, you are arrested in Canada-- have you obtained the permission of the American court to leave the COUNTRY? This is almost never given. You'll be in violation of your bail. When you are returned to the US you'll be in jail till your trial without bail (you are now a flight risk) and even if proven not guilty, you may have to serve time for bail jumping. Plus, who put up the 10 percent cash bond? You'll need to explain to them what happened, as the bond is forfeit.
In the meantime, the Canadian authorities have you in custody, let's just say. What will they do? Call your parents? NO, now they are going to discover you have an arrest on the US side and you will be thrown out of Canada forever. No more hockey, no more fishing, no more real Canadian beer, no more Canadian follies.
Wake up. You are released on bail, you have limited rights. You probably got in this jam in the first place due to limited maturity. If you want to save your life, recognize the faults you have that brought you to this juncture. |
