1) You'll need a birth certificate
2) Yes...you can get into trouble.
3) So...you wouldn't be opposed to a Canadian screwing around your public officials....."just for fun"?

What a lowlife...

Imaka
No, you can't get a Social Insurance Number from Canada if you are a US citizen and live in Texas. No, they won't send you one. Yes, you can get in trouble for trying.

#1. Stupidest idea I've ever heard of.

#2. If this is your idea of fun you need to get a life and get out more.

#3. You need to supply proof of Canadian citizenship and proof of address to get a SIN so they wouldn't give you one.

#4. Falsifying a Canadian govermental document is a felony punishable by prison time and/or a large fine.

#5. Canada and the US have an extradition treaty.

You could be charged with fraud. You would have to claim that you are a canadian citizen, which would be a lie. On the bottom of the form you must provide a signature and it reminds you there that making a false statement is a serious offence.

Find something else to do with your spring break!

Sure if you want to get prosecuted for international identity fraud, feel free. That card is records the identity and work history of the holder. There is an equivelent in the US, forget what its called.

No, you can not get a social insurance number from Canada if you are not a Canadian. You have to have proof that you are a Canadian citizen. You may get into trouble.so I think that you should be a little careful before trying something like this, just for fun.

Whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah! Doing it for fun??? U realize that a SIN is very important, doing it for fun is playing with the government system....but the thing is the government wouldn't even let u get a Canadian SIN cause u don't live here.

Barb S
No you can not.
