Can you help me figure out US / Canada gas prices?

I'm trying to figure out US / Canada gas prices conversion. I live in Redwood City, CA (currently, the most expensive place for gas in the country) and the highest price I saw today was $4.99. So at that gas station, it was $4.99 for a gallon of gas. I did some research and found the most expensive place for gas in Canada, which is Labrador City in Newfoundland.

1 gallon = 3.785 liters. So by converting it back to gallons, how much would 1 gallon of gas in Canada cost? I'm basically trying to figure out of it's more or less expensive in Canada for gas. I guess it's not that hard to figure out but I'm really bad at math lol

It's more expensive almost always, but I can't tell you by how much because the price in Canada varies as it does in the US. Multiply the price per litre by 3.785 and you'll have the price of Canadian gas per US gallon. We don't use gallons, officially, in Canada any more but when we did, it was an Imperial gallon which is larger than a US gallon. A US gallon is 5/6 of an Imperial gallon, 132 oz rather than 160 oz.

In Canada its currently almost $1.50/litre ($1.468 to be exact. This is an update for people who say its still around $1.30/litre Canada) in Vancouver (I freaking live there). To convert to litres you divde by the litre equivalent and to convert to gallons, you multiply by the litre. If I use your measurements with my exact price its $5.55638/gal rounded its $5.56/gal. So its more expensive even though Canada has the world's second largest conventional crude reserves located in Alberta and that are barely tapped with the combined effects of high fuel taxes.

gas where i am in canada is around 1.30 a litre so times that by 3.785 =$4.920
so almost 5 bucks a litre

hi. the us dollar is widely accept everywhere and they often make the exchange at the store that said, i lived there for several years recently. use your debit or visa card from the usa. but it is 1 us gallon equal about 4 liters. so the price you will see at the pumps there times that price by 4. it is more than a dollar more for gas there now than in the usa.

my hussband is canadian who just came to see me last week. it will be about 60 cents more than what you are paying in the bay area.

here for nfnld and lab

the just call those provinces the maritimes btw.

ok, my bad it is now about 6 dollars a gallon in that area as of today.

multiply 3.785x the cost per litre. Assume gas in Labrador City is $1.45 per litre. 3.785x1.45=5.48 $5.48 per gallon.

Gas in Moncton, NB is $1.33 a liter. So that would cost a little over 5 dollars a gallon here. Gas there is expensive, where you are I mean. In Milwaukee where I'm from, it's about $3.93 a gallon.

The price of gas changes from day to day, mostly upwards.
Gas by the liter is currently selling for about $1.30 Canadian.
If there are 3.785 liters in a US gallon, then :

1.30 x 3.785 = 4.92

Canadians are once again ripping themselves off! We produce the oil that Americans drive with, yet they spend less than Canadians for gas. Go figure!

Note: the exchange on the dollar is basically at par currently.

It's just a little bit over 3 dollers. It's cheaper in Canada because we are the ones that supply the US with oil.

It's a little over $3.
