There are a few Schools, if you want luxury the royal york, four seasons and on the lower end of luxury Westin Harbor Castle.

If you want the boutique experience in a happening neighborhood the Drake Hotel on Queen west, not outlandishly priced however definitely an experience.

Ooh a big spender.

Intercontinental and Royal York are very nice (in fact, many a celebrity have stayed at the Royal York)

Hotels:
Four Seasons
Royal York
King Edward
Drake Hotel for something hip.

Restaurants:
Sassafraz is probably the nicest restaurant in my opinion, and is very well-known.

360 (Revolving restaurant in the CN tower, although I personally think it's the most overrated place to eat)
Tundra (In the Hilton hotel)
Morton's
Barootes
Perigee
Splendido

Or just walk around Yorkville, since nearly any restaurant there is expensive with a smart casual dress code.

It's often said among restaurant critics that Splendido just might be the finest restaurant that Toronto currently has to offer. Try it out (assuming you can get a reservation)!

Four Seasons
the Intercontinental
The Inn on Bay

Scaramouche
Lord Timothy de Horton

hotel: Royal Meridian King Eddward Hotel (lots of celebs have stayed there) right in down town Toronto, close to all kinds of shopping and dinning experiences. it even has its own restaraunt, bar and victorian tea room. its not cheap last i checked rooms were going for $500 a night and thats even not the deluxe suits.
u can wear a suit to any classy looking restaraunt if u like. probably one of the fanciest i have heard of is Sassafras. lots of celebs go there as well.
i used to work at the King Edward Florist while it was in the hotel.
