Can you use a United Sates drivers license to buy alcohol/get into clubs/bars in Toronto? |
Me and my girlfriend are heading to Toronto next month. We are both 20 years old so we know we could legally drink there. However, we need to know if out New Jersey driver license will be accepted at liquor stores, bars, and clubs up in Toronto. Or would it be a better idea to carry our US passport around? |

Yes you sure can use it.The legal drinking age is 19 in Toronto,ON.You don't need to carry your passport around to prove that you're 20. I'm pretty sure your NJ license will be ok |

me and my friends go up to canada all the time, and we've never had any problems with them not liking our IDs. they're pretty used to NY licenses in toronto, so i dont see why NJ would be a problem. |

Yes as long as it is valid, your 19+. You should have no problem. You should keep your passport in a safe that most hotels have.
Have fun!! |

Your passport is always a better idea - and you will need it to get across the border - both ways - as the newer 'chip' licenses have been talked about but don't yet exist. |

long as it has your photo on it you should be fine
remember to get back into the states you must have your license and a birth certificate or a passport |

License is fine, I have used my Minnesota license at Toronto clubs, and I have in the past used my Ontario Health card at places in Minnesota. |
