you do not need a passport until next summer. a birth certificate and drivers license is all you need. i live in buffalo, trust me no passport is needed now. |

No, Buffalo is not locatetd right across the border its Niagra Falls NY. You'll have to walk 20 miles to get to BUffalo. |

first of all, that would be one heck of a bridge, b/c Niagara Falls and Buffalo are NOT across from one another; Niagara Falls is on BOTH sides of the border... or Buffalo and Fort Erie. NF-NF, yes, you can walk across and you need birth cert & license or else a passport. Don't know if you can walk across at Ft Erie-BUF, but the requirements would be the same. |

Yes I do it all the time. You just need your license to get back, but a copy of your birth certificate to get back into the USA. Bring both with you. It also costs $2.50 to get in at $2.50 to get back. After July 2009 you will need a passport/enhanced license. |

Hi, I lived in Fort erie for a long time, and my parents would ALWAYS take me for walks across the border. However, for every person you need a passport some kind of identification (I think 2-3 pieces). My parents would use my library card, health card,or birth certificate. And the third would obviously passport,

P.S. you don't always need all that identification but they do tend to ask that some times, so better safe then sorry, right.

To find out the best route, use Google Earth, like all the rest of the illegal immigrants. Then you will not need any papers. Sault Saint Marie seems a better place.... all you'll need is a small rowboat. :-) |

Yes you can walk across the border on one of the bridges - you do require your passport for entry however. |
