Can you walk across the canadian border?
my friend and i are arranging a trip together to NY but he lives in canada and he has a way to get to the border, but he would be walking across, into buffalo NY. i was just curious to see if you can cross on foot and not in a car.
No. The Vehicular and Non-Ambulation Treaty of 1921 requires all persons crossing the USA-Canada border from the USA to Canada to be conveyed in a vehicle having at least four wheels, and those crossing from Canada to the USA to be conveyed in a vehicle having at least three wheels or three skis, or in a dogsled being pulled by at least four dogs. Walking across the border, or attempting to, is punishable by a severe prison term.

According to the website below, you can walk on both the Rainbow Bridge (between Niagara Falls, ON and Niagara Falls, NY) and the Peace Bridge (between Fort Erie, ON and Buffalo, NY)

Yes you can walk across. At the rainbow bridge in Niagara Falls. It costs like 50 cents or something and you can cross over to the other country. Back then (6 years ago) they just asked you if you were either Canadian or American. Now make sure you bring you passport
Russ
If Bush had his way there would be no border
Yes you can walk across although you will need a passport soon
