In order to enter Canada as a "visa Student " you must FIRST apply and be accepted, by a University in Canada. Once you have a letter of acceptance in your hand, you can apply to the the Government of Canada, for a student visa.
Here is the link to the official website about applying for a International student visa.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/index.asp
Be aware that the student visa is only good for a specific period of time, and then you have to leave Canada. And while you are here, as a student visa holder, you can only work 10 hours a week, so don't plan on being able to work to support yourself here in Canada. Your full time job in Canada is to be a student.
In addition, you must prove that you have the entire amount of the money required for your University courses, PLUS the money needed to live here, while you are a student . That proof has to be provided to the Canadian Government, before they will issue you a student visa.

there's not really that much difference between the two. Canada has free health care like Britain, so living without it might take some getting used to. |

To "Sali": many american cities are freezing in the winter as well, dont think the U.S is warm, the north is cold. Vancouver is not cold in the winter, so if you dont like snow, move there.
I'd say Canada :D |

It shouldn't be hard to go to either country as a student - make sure you get into university first and be prepared for inflated costs - students from out of country pay a premium. It may be easier to go to Canada as it s still part of the British Union.
Go to uni in London first then to an exchange for a year. |

To my fellow Canadians who answer this ? whenever it pops up......please stop this idiocy of referring to our healthcare system as being "free".....it is not free,we pay for it one way or another. |

Canada is freezing cold in winter if you don't mind that go for it it is apart from the weather nice country. USA has different type of weather between states, but little bit more choose an area with minor crime records and good neighbourhood. |
