Canada---are police cars yellow?

I just watched the movie OWNING MAHOWNEY, and all the Toronto police cars were yellow.
So---in Canada, what color are the taxicabs?
Are police cars still yellow, or have the colors been changed so as not to confuse them with taxicabs?
thanks if you know......

Toronto had yellow police cars from 1969-1986.

"That changed when they were all painted bright yellow. In 1969, the motto "To serve and protect" was added to police vehicles. The yellow cars were replaced in 1986 by white cars with red and blue accents."

The cabs can be almost any colour. Some companies like Beck taxi have orange cars, other companies don't have a standard colour and just use regular cars equipped with taxi signage.

Where I'm from, police cars are white with different color logos depending what city they belong to. Taxis do not have a regulated color or make. They are normal cars with the TAXI sign on the top.

Toronto has its own police force (not the RCMP) and our cars are white, with blue accents.

Taxis depend on the company - it ranges from normal cars/vans with taxi signs, then some companies have their own signature colours - usually really weird ones, like grouping orange with green.

Canada's police cars are usually white with a logo or some pinstriping on it. Many used to be a dark color, such as navy blue.

The taxicabs here are all private cars with a TAXI sign on the top, so they could be any color, unlike the Yellow cab company in some cities in USA.

Toronto cops had yellow cars in the 60's and 70's. They are now white. In most other cities, police cars were black and white back then; now they are mostly white.

The color of taxicabs depends on the company.

No-- we still use horsies and wagons!

Toronto police are predominantly white with blue and red strip with words saying Serve and Protect.

NO, i've never seen such thing on police cars, i wonder if u meant cabs.

Chris L
we don't have police cars in Canada silly; we ride seals to the scene of the crime

MnM
Police cars are regular and some taxicabs are green some are yellow and some are orange

As a Canadian I have never seen a Yellow Police Car other than on TV like you said. And I must have watched the only other show with one as I didn't see the movie you did.

Maybe it was an Toronto Police thing at one time or another. It probably was the time when Firemen in my corner of Canada had yellow-green firetrucks. But as for police cars, all I see are White RCMP Police Cars.

Taxis, seem they will be almost any color now. I think more of the ones I see are black. But in the big city they tend to be more yellow ones.
