I would really like to see the source that you got this from. Free vaccines are offered in Canada for these diseases, including in Alberta and Quebec. I am Canadian, and have never had measles, mumps, or tuberculosis, and don't know anyone else who has (including my family in Alberta).

Every place has the typical viruses you mention but I would really question the source of your info. Measles and mumps are no more here then they are in any other developed country and 99.9% of the children are vaccinated against them. TB is a bit more prevalent but only because of the immigrant population and they are normally not active cases. All immigrants are screened for things like TB before they are allowed in the country.

Find a better source for info because what you have now is not accurate.

Every country still is affected by these diseases. Especially when tourists and visitors, who do not receive routine childhood vaccinations, bring it in to the country. The last outbreak of MMR, which affected roughly 400 Canadians, was brought in by a Japanese student. The MMR affected people who had either never received inoculation, were Seniors and had received inoculation many years ago, when vaccines were not as good as recent years, or people who are vaccine resistant, like myself.

In Canada, it is a requirement that school age children be vaccinated, and you can be removed from school without an up to date vaccination chart. Of course, there are many different religious groups who refuse vaccinations, and are protected from getting them under the CCRF.

When speaking about Tuberculosis, there are many strains that are vaccine resistant. Also, Natives tend to have a greater propensity to get TB, and Canada has a significant Native population.

There is no more of a greater threat in Canada, then in any other developed Nation. And, as vaccines are free to receive there is no excuse for not getting them done in a timely fashion. I am of the belief that religious ideals should not be an exemption when it may be a risk to the greater public.

Q&A
Where did you get this information from? Thats rediculous! You can get Vaccines for them anyways.

Before moving here, please get vaccinated. We don't want you spreading your ignorance.

... that doesn't sound like a very good source.

i believe here in Toronto last year there was a >slight< outbreak of measles-- but the only people who got infected were those who hadn't gotten a shot for it.

as long as you've got your vaccinations, you should be ok (and vaccinations are available im sure at any hospital or doctors office)

Yup - they are all dying in the street, with no internet access and 100 year wait lists for a doctor. ...

Where do people get these things? Could you tell us what your source is?
