Many of us have great admiration and respect for Queen Elizabeth II, and her representative in Canada is the Governor General. We are part of the British Commonwealth, which sort of makes her our queen too, but she is not really part of the day to day running of Canada. She assumes the role of our queen only when she is here, or when she is performing some duty that is affecting Canada when she is not here. Here are a couple of links that discuss the role of the queen in Canada.

We are a independant common wealth country .
But due to our ties and respect Queen Elizabeth is on our currency and also our government system is role modeled after the British parliamentary system

To put it simply: Yes.

I can't believe people said no.

Yes and no. Canada's official head of state is the Queen of England. However, she has no authority nor much influence on this side of the Atlantic.

Technically yes, Queen Elizabeth II is our queen. The Governor General is her representative. But they're more for show(unless Parliament needs to be dissolved). Otherwise the Prime Minister is the leader of the country.

No, but since Canada used to be part of Britain, we still honour Queen Elizabeth II. It wasn't until about 20 yrs ago that our former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau got Queen Elizabeth II to sign a statement saying that Canada does NOT need Queen Elizabeth II to approve our new laws. Queen Elizabeth II's face appears on our Canadian currency.

We are a fully independent country and we do not have a queen in Canada.

Yes. Officially Queen Elizabeth is also Queen of Canada but we got full independence in 1980 when the constitution was brought back to Canada. Confederation in 1867 gave us our first Prime Minister. So, much like many other countries, the Queen is really just a figure head, but she does have the power to veto things through the Governor General, her representative.
