Anyone who lives in Ontario will tell you the taxes!
Ontario is the highest taxed province there is. Anytime we purchase anything AT ALL (a car, a drink, a movie) we have to pay tax. Which is 14% of whatever the purchase may be.
Not to mention Canada is bad for getting taxed on your income. People that make good to really good money (ex: $60,000+) get about 45% of their paycheck taken away for tax purposes. |

You have to take into consideration the area that the person you are asking lives in. Canada has various regions that all have what they would consider their main problem. |

For the every day person up here it is the same things as you, jobs, retirement, taxes, etc... Take your pick. On the world stage we have huge areas of the country with no people, huge oil and gas reserves, plenty of fresh water. Our military, while small is more than adequate as an active UN member. We are aware of terrorists, after all, we are in Afghanistan with you. Our airports and ports have been tightened as have yours but nobody is jealous of us so our normal daily stuff is nothing like some of your cities. Hope all the hurricanes turn out to sea and your troops get home safely and soon. Fences don't necessarily make for better neighbors. Our border has been the envy of all for a couple centuries, the terrorists win if you wall yourselves off. Have a great day... |

I'm American living in Canada, I don't really think there's one "main" problem. Different people have different problems
and so things go. You hear alot of complaining about taxes, health coverage, indians for example but not from everybody. So you know, it really depends on who you talk to. |

The number one problem for me is the weather extremes.....
In the months of July and August the daytime temperature is around 85-95 degrees....in another 4 months it will be around -20 to -30.... |

Not necessarily a problem, but high income and sales tax rates. |

I'd have to say the taxes, and the crazy weather we have. In the winter it goes up to -35 plus the wind; then add 2 feet of snow overnight, plus 3 days non-stop. Then you have the summer where there's a week of +35 and it's super humid. |

The rise in the loonie vs the dollar.
If the trend continues the Canadian economy will be header for the crapper. |

The US. They are in bed with our politicians, making us fight their wars, are shipping illegal firearms into our country, and will be the reason we get hit by a terrorist attack. It used to be ok to be Canadian in this world, now we are equated with the US. |
