Actually, I think it's a fair question. I am proud to be Canadian but I am ashamed of our attitude towards Climate Change.

On a personal level, I see Canadians taking their bikes to work when the weather is good, lowering the thermostats, recycling and composting but the idiots in Ottawa are in deep denial.

If people actually paid attention in history, the climate has been changing for 6 million years. Why do we assume that the climate now should be stable?

If we cut our pollution back as much as the Kyoto Accord would want, our economy would collapse. So yes, I'm proud that our government is doing the best they can, given the situation.

That said, I still see no evidence of permanent global warming. Sure, the pollution isn't good for the environment, but if you do your research, you'll find that less than 100 years ago, scientists were aghast about "global cooling" and how we were entering another "ice age". It's all BS. Climate is bound to change slightly through time, shifting up and down and back and forth. People need to get a grip.
