Canadian Passport Photo?
Do I have to get a professional to take my photo or can I just use a passport photo from photobooth? This is how I have done my UK passport in the past (dual citizenship).
If the photo booth is set up to do passport photos then you can use them but I doubt you will find such a booth.
There are strict requirements for passport photos in Canada including what (if any) jewelry may be worn, the size of the photos, the lack of a smile, reflection from glasses, the size of the signature strip on the bottom......
It only costs a few bucks to go to the photo studio at Walmart or any professional photography place...even CAA, to get proper passport photos done. Spend the money and get them done right the first time so that it doesn't delay your application.

It needs to be taken by a professional and they will put a sticker on the back with a place for the gaurentour to sign. Pretty much every camera store will do it. So will walmart and many drug stores.

no they have to be certified to do so but that said most any photo place is. look in yellow pages for under photos or photographers.

I had my photo done at Costco for like $6. I got them for both the passport and for my immigration papers with no problem whatsoever.

You need a professional because they have to certify that they took the picture and you are the person in the picture.
