Toronto and New York, Vancouver and Seattle... I wouldn't say that they are very similar really. I always find the Canadian cities to be more peaceful however. |

All depends on your criteria for comparison. Several have mentioned Toronto-New York, I presume for the obvious connection that they are the largest cities in either country, and the most commercially important. However, an equally good case can be made that Montreal is the NYC of Canada if you are thinking geographically - both cities have their central core on an island connected by bridges and tunnels to the suburbs on the mainland, and both cities have been possessions of multiple colonial powers throughout their respective histories. It all depends on your point of view.
