Canadians Aren't You Afraid Of A Conservative Majority? |
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese Canadians don't destroy your country.
Latest Nanos polls show that the Conservatives are going to get a majority!!!!! And Nanos was the only polling company that predicted the 2006 election correctly.
Canadians please remember the failed Mulroney Regime!!!!! |

I'm terrified.
I think Canada kinda works with a minority gov't. I'm scared Harper will take away abortion, bring back capital punishment and abolish gay marriage...eeek! |

Please has an A. Just so you know.
And ummm no. I'm not afraid of a Conservative majority. They can't do much worse than the Liberals who had control of our country for how long??? Maybe I'm still bitter about the manipulation of the definition of marriage or the waste of money and time by having to register my guns. Oh and don't get me started on that shitty idea of carbon taxing. What do you think runs Alberta?? How about coming up with something that can be used instead of oil and gas. Spend money on that. Don't tax me for something I have to use.
I'm not bitter. I just don't see eye to eye with Liberals. |

I will vote for a law and order party, that is not willing to give millions to so called "artists " who cannot sell their work, with out massive annual grants.
I will vote for a party that is willing to support our troops and a party that is willing to stand up to the Taliban and their Canadian friends in the NDP.
I will vote for the Conservative party, with no fear of the stupidity that is Stephan Dion, or Ms May. Neither of those two could manage a kids birthday party , never mind a country.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a conservative majority and it does not please me. As a life long "liberal" though, I have in the past few years become thoroughly disgusted with the liberal party of canada. Chretien was arrogant and domineering and stayed well beyond his best (if there were any) days. Martin was a buffoon. After Harper won the last election the liberals had an opportunity to renew themselves and show Canadians that they saw the need for change and to make those changes. What did they do? They picked Stephane Dion as their leader, an old Chretien crony who barely speaks English and sees nothing wrong with being a citizen of a foreign country while trying to become the leader of this one. The Carbon Tax plan is rubbish, especially given todays economic uncertainties and worries that it could collapse. I will, regretfully be voting for Harper next month. |

I'm worried only because if the Conservatives achieve a majority we'll see a different Stephen Harper than the one who has been in power over the last government.
As the leader of a minority government he's had to bow to some of the demands of the other parties in order to get his legislation through. If he gets a majority, then he can do what he wants without having to compromise.
Remember, this is not the Conservative Party from Canada's past, but a blend of that party with the more right wing Reform party added in. If you didn't like Mulroney's government, well this is going to be even further to the right.

I wonder who "they" actually ask for these supposed "polls" "they" are always taking. I will be voting the same way I have since I became of legal age to vote---->NDP! |

I do not like ANY of the candidates this time round. However Harper is not Mulroney, Stephen Dion's greenshift plan would royally screw west canada over and Jack Layton is far too radical for my liking. Thus I have to go with the lesser of the three evils and vote for Harper. Once again I don't want any of them to win but I have no choice. For those that vote me down please realize that I have my own opinion/vote just like you do. I have never and will never vote exclusively for just one party ever. |

Mulroney,
The guy that got stuck with the economic disaster that commy Trudeau left him and was recently voted the "Greenest PM Ever"? I doubt Chretien would have been able to fix the budget so easily if he hadn't worked on for years and brought in the GST. Why do you think he broke his promise to repeal it? |

HEEL YEAH!!! I am very afraid of a Harper Majority Government. Unfortunately the real Conservative or should I say the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada is dead and gone. The last leader of that party that seem to have shred of decency or integrity was Joe Clarke. The last few federal election campaigns here look more American style than the old Canadian style ones where the politicians wore kid gloves and didn't attack their opponents in their ads. Well, the kid gloves are off and Harper and his gang have put on their brass knuckles and have gotten out their baseball bats and have come out swinging.
First of all Harper broke the First Election Date Act, that he brought in himself, trying to justify his actions by stating nothing was going to get done and blaming the opposition for it. But it was his gang that were causing all the problems in the committees because it was his party that brought a 200 page book on how to do this. To me he is the biggest hypocrite and cement headed politician since Mike Harris and to make things worse he is a big fan of Thick as a Brick Mike. Harper has less compassion for low income Canadians than a pack of hungry wolves running down a sick and injured deer. At least when the wolves are finished with the deer their suffering is over but unfortunately low income Canadians' suffering will go on as long as Stephen Harper is still Prime Minister of Canada.
So if history repeats it self, there will be a low voter turnout at the polls on Election Day and if Harper and his gang get a majority the only ones to blame will be the Canadians who didn't get off their lazy, whinning butts and vote for someone other than a conservative in their home ridings. If you recall the voter turnout for the election in which Mulroney got his majority government was the lowest in Canadian history. That's why Harper timed the election for the day after Thansgiving Day knowing full well the turnout will probably be lower that normal.
All I can say is God Help Us All if that happens. And I shout GO TO HELL with him to all those Canadians who will hail the coranation of the first Canadian Emperor, Stephen Harper. This country will truly be a poorer place, less pleasant place to live after Emperor Stephen Harper's reign is over. Unfortunately there is no restriction on how many times he can be become Prime Minister as there is in the United States on how many terms one person can be President. |
