Canadians! Hello! How is it up there? =D Hows the weather? Oh! And do you like Obama? |
Hi Northern neighbors!! Any question for us weird Americans, down here in the most hated country in the world? =D
Yeah, 70% of us hate Bush. 50% of us can't wait till Obama is up there in the House. 47% of are kinda weasy about that. 3% are like, okay then.
I'm with the 50%! =]
Well, do you guys like Obama? Or did you wish McCain won?
And we all know that everyone in the world hates Bush.... =] Additional Details What kind of politician doesn't tell us what we want to hear? Every politician does that. But, I just hope that Obama keeps most of his promises. Like he said, its not going to be quick or easy. That is a promise that he can keep.
I get my facts from the election numbers. Approximately 50% of voters voted for Obama.
Approx. 47-48% voted for McCain.
I say about 3% voted 3rd party.
=D
Canadians are cool. I want to go to Niagara Falls and visit the Canadian side!
I hardly hear any news from Canada. The last slice I heard of news from there was the foot mystery....
Do you guys hear news from us? |

Howdy southerner. I'm happy that Obama won, for sure. According to some polls done up here, 80% of Canadians supported Obama. So he would've done well if he ran up here. Maybe we can trade our leader for your upcoming one? Ours is kinda like Bush, although a little sharp.
Anyways... See ya!
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Yeah, we hear a lot from you guys. American culture has made its way through most of the rest of the world. I have a friend who recently moved to Vancouver here from northern England. I asked him if he got American television where he lived and he said much of it was American TV. True for here too as perhaps 50% give or take is American. More than that are Canadian TV stations with American programming. You guys are good at creating news. I'm glad that there's been more good news lately. |

I feel really optimistic about Obama. He isn't a superman and he has huge problems left by Bush to deal with. How on earth is he going to lower taxes and spend billions of dollars bailing out the economy at the same time? He can't, so some people are bound to get disappointed. Yet, it feels like the world is already a little safer because America has a president who understands diplomacy. The fact that even the Iranians are hoping for more peaceful relations with the U.S. now is a pretty dramatic sign. Honestly some Americans (the 47 % ?) don't seem to see through the fog of nationalism past their own nose, but from a Canadian perspective definitely Obama has got to be a tremendous improvement over Bush for international relations. |

oh yes,i was sooo glad to hear Obama won. Thank God! But the poor guy will spend 2 years if not more just cleaning the **** that Bush has made.
I forgot to say hi back so.. Hi! And don't expect Obama to be a miracle worker, give the guy some time.
Edit: i read the posts above and i must say i agree on parts of them. Obama seems better than McCain but we'll see if he is honest. I mean, Germans choose Hitler because he was saying things people wanted to hear while there was crisis in the country... hope he's not like that! |

I would say the world in general is beathing a huge sigh of relief that Obama won.
I think McCain would have just been a continuation of Bush policies.
Poor Obama has his work cut out for him, though! |

I think Americans feel that Obama is a miracle worker and he's not. He's a politician just like every other politician. Of course he's slick and charasmatic but he won't turn the economy around on a dime and he won't be able to fix it all.
Too many Americans look to him to "save them" and it won't happen. |

I'm Canadian, and I hate Obama, I feel like he is just telling people whatever they want to hear, whether he plans to follow through with it or not. McCain seems more genuine, and realistic in his plans.
And I really can't say I hate Bush, I feel like he just got unlucky with so many things that have happened in the last 8 years. What else was he supposed to do when terrorists attack some of the largest buildings in the country killing thousands? I mean if he didn't decide to go to war everyone would call him a pu$$y, and would probably hate him more. His reasons for attacking Iraq were also valid in my opinion, Saddam was attacking and killing thousands of people, as well as many taliban and al qaeda hiding in Iraq and Syria.
Just my opinion |
