Canadians What Do You Think About Your Current Leaders And Politicians? |
It looks like the Americans are going to have a historic president- their first black president.
The last electrifying Canadian president was Trudeau.
Canadians are you jealous of the American's new choice in a leader, Obama. After all I read in the LA times Canadians were more interested in the American election than they were in their own recent elections.
I also read that Canadians prefer Obama to their own leaders and that Canadians would gladly give up a chance to vote in their own elections to vote in the American election.
Is that how little you think of your leaders? Sorry to say but that is pathetic. |

Ask 100 Canadians about the US election and you will get 100 different answers, ranging from... I could care less.....To Osama isn't going to win...........to I don't want another Bush in the office,
Don't believe all that you read in the papers, on either side of the border.
As for being jealous, come on, thats silly .
We observe the United States for the humour factor.

Trudeau was the last "electrifying" Prime Minister (not president here), but Kim Campbell made an uproar for being the first and so far only female Prime Minister, and Paul Martin kinda screwed up.
Canadians are NOT jealous of you for having the option of electing Obama. Canadians generally know that no matter who America elects it's going to be the same shenanigans all over again. More Canadians watched the Vice President debate than the Canadian leaders debate which aired at the same time, which is kinda sad. But the American debates are much more interesting because in Canada they talk about politics and only politics, and the American debates talk about other things that don't matter with politics on the side, and in America there is a lot more "glam factor" involved with politics. I watched the final leaders debate last night between Obama and McCain and they talked about their feelings for half an our out of an hour and a half debate! the Canadian debate moderator wouldn't put up with them talking about feelings for thirty seconds. So unless your into politics the Canadian debates are pretty bland.
Our current Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, is kind of a love him or hate him kind of leader. Partly because he's Conservative, and partly because of his manner with the media and how he runs Ottawa. Personally, I think he's done a damn good job with a minority government. Most people who have minority governments screw everything up because there isn't much else they can do, but Harper has actually done something in the office. Canadians tend to forget how hard it is to do something with a minority government.
No, we don't think that little of our leaders. Get over yourself. |

yes we in Canada pay attention to the driver of the elephant who lives next door. Its good to know what direction the beast is going. |

Bah ha ha ha. There is nothing that the states has, or will have that I am jealous of, and that extends further than their politicians. I do not wish to vote in american elections, and while it may be a hot topic for the media, as we lack the crime to top the news here, it is rarely a conversation piece amongst the general public, unless we are looking for a good laugh. The US is f**ked no matter who the elect in, anyways. |

Perhaps you should give a little more attention to your own election.
Canadians do not vote in the USA. They are somewhat interested in what's going on next door but not exactly fascinated by it. |

Oh their first black president, big freaking whoop
We had a women Prime Minister over ten years before Hilary Clinton even ran. |

Alright,
before you judge Canadians you need to take a look at your own country, as far as your news style and how much propaganda is placed before you.
Now, what ever the LA times is saying about Canadians, they sure did not ask me or the other 59,294 people in my riding who came out and voted. I would never give up my right to vote to partake in a fixed election. Obama is not as liberal as any of our leaders, maybe more so than Stephen Harper, but not the rest. It was interesting to watch the American theatrics, that's what they are entertainment. Canadian elections are fair, and act more democratically than American elections. Your only candidate who came close to this was Ron Paul.
The Canadians who do wish to throw their vote away are probably the same Canadians who don't bother to vote in the first place, and who do not follow politics.
next time you are so quick to judge Canadians throw your first stone at your own political system, for it is much more flawed than any other.
Also, if you were wondering, many Canadians loathe Stephen Harper, and are surprised that he was elected for a second time. If McCain is elected then Stephen Harper will most likely have no problem bending over a barrel in front of him and dropping his pants. If McCain is elected than Stephen Harper will most likely join forces and North America will be doomed. |
