Canadians, do you think that we complain too much?

I have noticed that Americans seem to have a warped view on how things really work in Canada. For example, they think that our health care sucks and we all go there for treatment, they think that we pay out of our butts for taxes, they think that the weather is like the Arctic up here. Do you believe that it's because we complain about stuff that we really shouldn't? Do you think that patriotism is lacking in Canada?
Additional Details
I suppose it would make more sense to know that I'm Canadian. I just see some of the warped views that Americans have of us, and wonder if we are the ones giving them those views.

I think we take a lot of things for granted. We're pretty lucky to live in a country where the most common complaint is the weather. And I think we're just as patriotic as any other country but we don't need to slap our flag on everything from underwear to condoms to show how much we love the country. We show it in other ways, such as at the Olympics, singing the anthem at playoff time in hockey or lining the overpasses on the 401 when a fallen soldier leaves Trenton for Toronto. That's patriotism, no other country does that. As far as other countries impressions, so much of their opinions are misguided and wrong, it's all based on stereotypes and misconceptions.

I'm an American and I have traveled quite a bit in the Canadian maritimes and the thing that most impressed me about Canadian people is their civility.

In America it's common to hear people cussing and talking rudely and using the big bad 'F' word. No so in areas of Canada I visited. Of course people speak a lot of French, a language of which I am unfamiliar, so mebbe I'm missing something.

I can't speak for everybody in the world, but you Canadians have given me a good impression.

LaFluer
I don't understand what complaining has to do with people from the States. I do notice that, in general, we Canadians have a lack of self esteem as a country (I guess you can call that patriotism). We always have to justify that we are "better" than Americans. As a lurker here, I have noticed that you and ajidamoon are one of the most vocal in that realm.

As for a warped view of Canada from American's. I see just as much as a warped view of the US from Canadians. Go on over to the CBC site and read the posts after news stories if you want to see warped views.

As Canadians, we should be more secure in our own place in this world and less concerned how we are NOT Americans. Complaining has nothing to do with it.

No, its due to the propaganda Americans are spoon fed from birth. That is why they think these things.

I would say 99% of the Canadians I speak to via the net, or know personally, are all extremely proud to be a Canadian, and feel like the luckiest people on earth, to live in such a great country. And for those who aren't proud, or happy to be here, its because they have really never known what true hardship is, and spend too much time complaining, rather than doing something to fix the things they don't like.

Lieu. Provo Parry Wallis
No, I don't think we complain enough. Many European countries have much better public services because they are willing to complain and fight for these benefits.

Right wingers in America make up stories about how bad Canadian health care is, so they can try to convince people that the US system actually works and so they won't have to pay more taxes.

No, you can't make them listen to the things they don't want to here, I love Canada they can belive what they want but they are just being ignorant idiots. It makes me laugh when people are stupid like that!
