If they are YOUNG children, there is a small cash benefit paid to the one looking after the children. (Young, in this case, means under the age of 12.)
This is true in all provinces and territories, I believe (not sure what the age range is for British Columbia and Alberta).
The benefit is considered taxable income - and you would be required to pay income tax on it at year's end. |

In Ontario you get a child tax credit, but it is based on income I get $22 a month, wowee. then there is the Universal Tax credit and it is $100 a month. |

Yes. In Ontario, they call it Baby Bonus. It's a a small amount of money that one can get each month for a child. |
