The poll you're referring to was conducted by Environics on behalf of the CBC.
Since there really are only three possible choices ( The Green Party has a snowball's chance in hell), Harper has come out on top in that poll and actually may be able to form a majority government to replace the minority government he currently enjoys.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Harper, his methods (a bit of a bully) or the conservative big business approach and normally vote Liberal but since Dion comes off as such a wimp, I can't bear the thought of his face on TV, representing our country in the international arena. As for Jack Layton...if I wanted a stoned, clueless, whiner who never shuts up and grandstands every opportunity ( even tasteless ones), then I'd vote for him. I don't so I won't.
It comes down to the old " go with the devil you know", especially given the choices offered. Dion was the worst mistake the Liberal party has ever made and I think that'll bear out in the election and they'll toss him.

Polls can be worded to tilt to whichever side the sponsor of the poll wants them to be.

I don't believe it. Harper is the worst thing to happen to Canada in recent years. Granted, as a leader Dion isn't much better but I'd do anything to get Harper out of office.

I have conducted my own personal poll and found Canadians do not prefer Harper as their leader. Most heard were: bloodless; Americanizing; closed speeches with 'God Bless Canada'; lame in general. But most feel there are poor choices as leaders of the other parties, after all was Dion the best they could get? My God.

I may end up voting NDP or something. Unthinkable really.

Personally I think Canadians wish all the parties would find themselves new leaders.
Harper is a sleaze. I would like to send him a year's supply of Kleenex to use on his little brown nose! He is also a cheat - running elections ads before he has announced an election and not giving the opposition a fair shot in this regard.
Dion sounds like an idiot - that may just be because I hear him speaking English which is not his Mother tongue. Perhaps he is not as bad a speaker in his own tongue.
Layton is getting to be like a worn out record.
Some new blood would be a wonderful and refreshing change.
Since we will not be getting any new blood for the next election, I think I will vote for Goofey or Donald Duck - that is if the Americans do not elect them first.

its true he screwed our country economically but he is still better than dion(liberal guy).......
