if you want a country to the RIGHT of the US, you have few options..... maybe Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Canada is a socialist country. Right now the governing party is called the Conservatives but by your standards they would be liberals, in line or to the left of most Democrats. We kill lots of unborn babies and let gays marry and the Conservatives have said they will leave it that way.

unfortunately for you Canada wouldnt offer much refuge....we are way ahead of the US on all those fronts and more so:

- same sex marriage is already legal across the country
- abortion is totally up to the women and her doctor
- socialist programs like universal healthcare and baby bonuses and other social programs.

What we call "conservatives" up here would make Ted Kennedy blush

No. And it's not just since Obama's election...this has been increasing and becoming a great concern for me over a few years...I didn't lose anyone at the WTC, but I lose brothers and sisters everyday in Iraq because I'm ex-military (once family, always family...and blood is NOT thicker than water in this case!) I also see my friends fighting an all out battle on the Texas border daily, while the rest of the nation turns a blind eye and says a war on our own soil can't happen and southern border security is a Republican pharse. I could stand to lose family, friends, and my child his father due to this war that IS being fought TODAY.

I thought about Canada too but I have met many people from there...and the first answerer is absolutely right...it is very "left". Cops can't even take their own guns home at night. The gun laws have no grandfather clause so in time, no one will be allowed to bear arms. Also, this wonderful medical thing that people think is going to happen under Obama..."we'll be like Canada then"...JUMP BACK!!! I know people there that say the care is fine, but you wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....one guy even put his extremely ill wife in the car and brought her to San Antonio to receive prompt oncology care. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Canadians...but I know too many who are unhappy with their own government.
