I live in the U.S. and I was wondering which parts of Canada are the most Conservative or has the most Conservative attitudes?? Compared to the U.S., how conservative would you say it is??

Compared to Americans, even a conservative Canadian would be a flaming socialist. But the most "conservative" Canadians are, by and large, in Alberta.

You would feel right at home in Alberta - Anti everything and pro guns!

Alberta would be considered quite conservative. Our brand of conservatism is not as staunch and public as the US. We are still quite humble here and we may be patriots but we wave our flag in a much more dignified fashion. We have never had the attitude its our way or no way, and that's what generally separates us from our cousins to the south.

I will agree with everyone. Alberta is the most conservative. I know because I live in Alberta and I am a conservative.

Allycat
Ontario is hugely Liberal. And as for Alberta, I can't agree with the Soviet response on top, that's exactly what Alberta is about. But, I've lived in Ontario, (grew up there), BC in HS and College, and then Ontario again, and now Alberta. The rules are a lot different here than the rest of the country, but I wouldn't leave here for the world. Not a chance. This is what conservative living is all about boy.

The most conservative part of Canada is Alberta, and the most conservative part of Alberta is Calgary.

But that makes sense, because Calgary has the largest ex-pat population of Americans in the world, or so I am told, and Americans are considerably more conservative than Canadians.

Compared to the US, Calgary is still more liberal, but the culture and attitudes there are, shall we say, different?

CX
Will I know for sure Alberta is Conservative, and considering Conservatives got the win in the election, but only minority I think Canada's conservative rating is 7/10, but being a conservative myself I hope they do better next time.

countpetez
Ontario and West is generally conservative, except Toronto which is a socialist city. Not too many Bush lovers anywhere though.

i don't think most ontarians are conserative.. i think we are more liberal than anything..

Canada is a SOCIALIST country to begin with. And so the most conservative province would still be a liberal state. And as for attitudes, even in the most conservative province, you'll be hard pressed to find the neo-religious conservative attitudes found in the US.

gnogni
Stick to Toronto or Vancouver. The prairies and Alberta are top conservatives, and Quebec is a world of its own.
