I have visited the US many times, Florida, Cape Cod, New Jersey and many others. Americans are no different than others throughout the world. There is bad and good. But, honestly I think we are not to keen about George Bush. We probably think Americans a bit over the top as far as patriotism but that is about it. My opinion and of course you did ask. On the whole I think we think Americans ok but we do get irritated when you tend to think we live in igloos and it is snow all the time, you know, certain stereotypes. Like we don't all say eh all the time lol.

Yes, for the most part. Canadians don't tend to make blanket statements about an entire country. But what Canadians don't like is Canadian-Bashing from Americans, and there seems to be a lot of it. For instance, there is always the comment that Canadians don't like Americans until they're in trouble, and then they ask for their help. That's not true. When do Canadians ask for American help? 60 years ago, when the whole world was asking the U.S. to help? Do we ask you for help in our countless other wars around the world? For our many natural disasters? It is actually that America asks Canada for help, not the other way around. {Obviously not militarily, for those that don't realize it, that's not the only thing there is). You ask for water and electricity. And we give it to you.

Of course Canadians don't like the 'blame Canada' attitude of some Americans when something goes wrong in their country. A prime example is the blaming of Canada for the power outage in the northeastern area of the U.S. a few years ago. That wasn't true at all, it originated in the U.S., but I didn't hear a retraction. Everyone heard about the cow from Alberta with mad cow disease; how many of you heard about the cow from Washington State with mad cow disease?

Canadians like Americans on a personal level, but they don't like your current government, and your media is questionable. That's about it.

no one likes Americans these days, but you know, people are people no matter where you live, its whats in ones heart that matters.,And besides they all need to remember who they call for in their dire need.

Canadians are they own person. 'my' experience, I went up there with a friend in my 'little' car (geez, 1980) and lived by their laws. streets are measures by kilometers, not miles. the BIG lumber trucks have the right of way. US v. Canadian dollar was about the same then, I truly don't recall. hose down your americanism, up there

Explorer
yes we do.

gracel313
Sure we do. We're not crazy about George, but generally, we like Americans.

All depends on the American. I don't like ALL Americans, I don't dislike them all either. A few a like a lot, many I respect and some are definitely my unfriends. But I hardly know all of them so can't say about those folks. Now if ye mean the current administration, that's a whole other thing. Loath would be a more appropriate term I think.

bibiru
no way. from the use of english language, attitude, character, and many more

I'm American living in Canada, from my own experience NO as a rule but are willing to give a person a chance to prove themselves. Americans are thought of a the red headed step child of the world until they need us for something and then bad mouth us for doing what the world wouldn't do. Just like the Aboriginal blockades all over Canada yesterday, the Aboriginals were carrying guns like terrorist but no one did anything. If that happened in the US, the National Guard would have been called up with riot gear on and the blockades would be gone.

ssjhumpa
They better, because of how much Canada is influenced and apart of America. Canada is America Jr.
